Cant we marry who we love?

Marriage is a commitment set by two people. The person you want to marry is someone you should be able to picture in your life forever. The person you choose to marry should be someone that you love and couldn't replace if you wanted to. Love is blind and we fall for the person our heart goes for. We cannot force love, we must allow it to come naturally. Love comes between people of different color, ethnicity, height, sex or same sex.

Who should be the one who says that we can't fall in love with someone because they are of the same sex? Statistically, 1 out of every 20 people are gay. They are attracted to someone of the same sex. No one can help who they fall in love with. If a person that is gay wants to marry the person they are in love with they should be allowed. Gay people should have the right to marry whoever they want and it shouldn't effect anyone else but them.

The Government allows you to marry someone that you don't truly love but you can't marry someone you love because it is unethical? I feel marriage laws shouldn't discriminate against age, nationality or even sex. We love who we love and that is who we want to be with for the rest of our lives. Why must gay people feel so left out because of their sexual preference? This issue bothers me because i know love is blind. I know that who we truly love may gross someone else out but that is why we are in love with them, not someone else.

Gay people are equal to us and should have their right to marry.

  1. I agree with this 100%. There is no reason why two people that truly love themselves cannot be together. I believe that everyone should be able to be with the person that they truly love. There is no reason why people that like the same sex should be treated differently. Everyone should be with the person that they love even if that means that they are different and unique. Society should start accepting the fact that everyone has different views and no one is really the same.
